This is the NYC chapter of ADAPT
ADAPT is a national grass-roots community that organizes disability rights activists to engage in nonviolent direct action, including civil disobedience, to assure the civil and human rights of people with disabilities to live in freedom.
NYC ADAPT works  with New York's Independent Living Centers,
with Disabled In Action and other local organizations and, when necessary, will help
organize and carry out direct actions

There are six women and three men. All but one man are sitting in wheelchairs. Behind them in big letters we read "Freedom" and a sign saying "separate is never equal" is at far left.

"Free our brothers, free our sisters, free our people now!"
